School District 22 Vernon
Terry asked me to post these contact helpers. I copy/paste/edit them as necessary to contact non-performing students through moodle or email.
Contact 1:
Hello Students,
I have not received work from you for some time. Please let me know as soon as possible when you will next be able to submit assignments. If you are having difficulty with course material, contact me when the difficulty arises so you do not fall behind.
Remember it is your responsibility to maintain weekly contact with your instructor. You are also required to submit work each week.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Contact 2:
Hello Students,
This is a reminder that as a student at The Open Door, you are required to maintain weekly contact with your instructor and demonstrate regular progress in your course. Students who do not meet these requirements risk being withdrawn from The Open Door. As I have not heard from you, I am not certain what your intentions are regarding your course. Please contact me at school as soon as possible.
If you are having difficulty with course material, contact me when the difficulty arises. Do not wait for me to have to track you down re overdue work.
Thanks,
Contact 3: (thanks, Glen)
I notice that you have been inactive in your course for a while now. The letter below is a part of our process at Open Door. Please let me know if you intend to finish the course.
Re: Signed Student Contract
Our records show that you have not been in regular attendance at the Open Door. When you registered with us for this school year you signed a Student Contract.
One of the terms of the contract was for you to attempt to complete a course every 10 weeks. I realize that a certain grace period may be required for individual students, based on their life happenings such as illness, work, childcare or other personal matters. However, it is my expectation that you will be able to demonstrate progress in your coursework on a weekly basis.
If no progress is being made, according to the terms and conditions of your signed contract, then I have no alternative but to withdraw you as a student from the Open Door Education Centre. If you do wish to continue with the Open Door, please contact your teacher(s) immediately.
If we have not heard from you within one week we will withdraw you from our program.
Respectfully,
Bruce Weitzel
Principal
